ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
As a born and raised Michigander, I know that life can be just as unpredictable as those seasons we get to experience year after year. Sometimes we find ourselves in a season of life that we simply can’t handle on our own, be that because of anxiety, depression, trauma, or unexpected hardship; and we find that we need assistance from someone in an honest and judgement-free environment. I believe that attending to this need is always a good thing and my passion lies in assisting people regain their happiness and sense of control over their own lives.
Since graduating from Western Michigan University with my Master’s in Counseling Psychology, I’ve had experience in providing therapeutic assistance to people in multiple settings, including private practice, mental health emergencies in the community, and patients undergoing inpatient psychiatric services. As such, I’m well equipped to assist with a multitude of concerns in pursuit of your wellness goals. To this end, I assist those I work with to overcome their mental health concerns by exploring those uniquely personal thoughts and behaviors that are contributing to their distress, then co-authoring a plan with the patient to change them to a more realistic and healthy form. In addition to this Cognitive-Behavioral modality, I also utilize components of Existential Therapy to tackle those challenges that can affect us all on a deeper level, such as grief, loss, and the sometimes difficult task of crafting meaning in our singular lives.
My varied clinical experience has allowed me to work with people from multiple populations. I’ve enjoyed assisting members of the LGBTQ+ community, adults, teenagers, men, women, etc. Regardless of where you land in the world of labels, you deserve positive mental health and to work with someone that will meet you where you are so you can get where you want to be; all without wasting any time having to be anyone but yourself. I look forward to working with you, learning from you, and helping you find success.
