ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Welcome! I’m glad that you are taking the time to find help for the problems that you are facing, and to find a provider that you feel comfortable with. This is a huge step!

I have always been passionate about working with others towards their identified goals, whether in past roles as a social worker, personal trainer, or tutor. After personally receiving some pretty stellar therapy that changed my life, I wanted to be able to give back to others what I have received. I’ve found that the structure of therapy allows for a kind of growth that is difficult to find in other environments, especially in our complex and chaotic world.

I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan, and since then I have worked primarily in intensive outpatient therapy, assisting high acuity clients in recovery and growth following inpatient hospitalization. I’m passionate about working with people of all backgrounds and perspectives who are suffering from both internal and external stressors, and providing the unconditional positive regard, empathy, curiosity, and insight that make therapy so unique and impactful.

My theoretical framework in therapy is grounded in a humanistic perspective, recognizing that all humans have universal and individual needs. Once our basic needs are met, we continue to have needs that matter, including community, self-esteem, and self-actualization. All that to say, you matter, your connections with others matter, the way you treat yourself matters, and your higher purpose in this world matters. I also emphasize the importance of recognizing trauma and systemic factors that may create roadblocks in achieving the wellness we seek.

With all that in mind, we also need tools to utilize in our journey, and these tools are not ‘one size fits all’. We will work together to identify which evidence-based modalities are most aligned with your goals or needs, and put those into practice. I am most experienced in providing CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Couples Counseling, and Structural Family Therapy, but I like to incorporate and emphasize techniques and perspectives from many other sources.

I look forward to working with you!
