Hello and welcome! My name is Greg and I finished my graduate degree at Western Michigan University in Counseling Psychology and am a Limited License Psychologist. My undergraduate degree is in psychology from Grand Valley State University.
I serve clients seeking assistance with everyday problems ranging from strained relationships, struggles with internal experiences such as depression and anxiety, to major traumas and life-changing events. I work with clients of all ages ranging from young adolescence to late adulthood. I am also a police officer of over twenty-three years; therefore, I specialize in working with first-responder clients, their families, or anyone who has experienced acute trauma.
My theoretical orientation is grounded in person-centered theory, which means that you and I will work together to determine what goals and intentions you are bringing, as well as find your strengths in order to support you to accomplish your goals. I believe in an integrative approach, which means I will implement interventions and techniques from many theories to tailor your counseling to your specific needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the theories I integrate, meaning that by focusing on your immediate automatic thoughts, we can understand how your thoughts shape your everyday experiences and where we might have an opportunity to make changes.
I look forward to meeting you and I know that we will have a positive and productive journey together.
