NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

“Authenticity is not something we have or do not have. It is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It is about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let ourselves be seen.” -Brené Brown

Welcome! Taking a leap of faith and requesting support takes a lot of courage. Therefore, I applaud you for making the decision to begin therapy! Going to therapy means that you decided to change your life for the better and you want someone on your side who can help you to become the best version of yourself. My goal is to create a space of authenticity, where clients become aware of and nurture their own authentic self. Being authentic means aligning our actions with our values, beliefs, preferences, and motivations. It is accepting who you are and having the courage and self-confidence to share that with the world. I encourage clients to stay true to themselves as we explore their past, history, and what makes them who they are. By living in line with your values, paying attention to your goals, and then reflecting on your journey, you can develop a stronger sense of self and become who you aspire to be. Keep in mind that developing and revealing our authenticity is an active process that takes patience, time, and dedication. It is something that takes small, daily actions that align with your values.

Using an eclectic therapeutic approach, I am passionate about helping each client grow in a personally meaningful way. The heart of eclectic therapy involves drawing from various theoretical orientations and techniques in order to select the best possible treatment. I adapt to the unique needs of each individual depending on their presenting problem, treatment goals, and expectations. Just as no two people are alike, there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I work to maintain an atmosphere of support, positivity, and enthusiasm in everyone's potential for growth. I believe that it is only in such a warm and genuinely empathetic environment that clients will feel safe enough to identify, express, and reflect on their experiences.

I grew up in a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I enjoy saunas, painting, belting out songs, and being surrounded by nature. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and graduated with my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Given my education and experience, I am trained to work with a diverse client population. I specialize in working with ADHD, anxiety, depression, domestic violence and sexual assault, PTSD/trauma, self-esteem, and boundary/co-dependency issues.
