ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
It can be difficult to be open, honest, and transparent with your feelings, your thoughts, your
worries…whether this is your first time seeking a therapist or not. I pride myself in offering a down to earth and empathetic approach to therapy and building a strong relationship with my clients to reduce this difficulty.
I strive to make my clients feel comfortable exploring their mental health with me through a curious and compassionate style of relating…and one free of judgement. By sitting with you and meeting you where you are at, we can work together to help you identify ways to improve your mental health.
My name is Jennifer Michalak and I have over 14 years of clinical experience, providing outpatient
therapy to a diverse group of clients. My passion is working with adults (18+) and helping them manage anxiety, depression, bipolar, grief/loss, substance abuse, life transitions, relationship challenges and difficulties with managing emotions. I graduated from WMU in 2009 with a Masters in Social Work. I am also a Certified Advanced Addiction and Drug Counselor (CAADC). I work from a trauma informed perspective, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness.
