Welcome! You have taken the first courageous step toward caring for yourself and creating a life you love.
Situations happen in our lives that impact how the path of life goes. Often we experience challenges and obstacles that hinder us from moving forward and creating our best life. As a therapist, I believe my role is to travel that path with you and address the obstacles in the way. These may be thought or behavior patterns that are not serving you well. This is hard work. It involves being honest and supportive as you find new ways of responding to your life.
As a graduate of Spring Arbor University, I hold a full license as a Professional Counselor with the State of Michigan. I am passionate about working with teens with a trauma history or who are struggling with intense emotions they can’t manage. I have unique familiarity working with teens and their families with how mental health is impacting their education. My experience as a therapist is with teens through adults on a wide variety of concerns including: trauma, intense emotions, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, stress, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, dissociation and identity. I have training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) with 4 years of experience and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with 7 years of experience in a full model DBT program. My style is straightforward and compassionate. I look forward to meeting you and traveling this journey with you.
