Hello and welcome! I am Elizabeth (Liz) Nielsen (she/her/hers). Starting therapy with a new clinician, or for the first time can be overwhelming. Knowing this, my goal is to provide a calm, non-judgemental, welcoming space where you are accepted, heard and empowered. I take a client centered approach to focus on your strengths, discover assets and use these to overcome your identified barriers.

I graduated from Michigan State University in 2008 with a Bachelor Degree in Sociology. I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2018 with my Master of Social Work. I enjoy working with children, teens and adults. I am experienced in behavioral issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, suicide ideation, grief/loss, LBGTQ+, coping with chonic health issues, and autism spectrum disorder. Modalites I am trained in may include use of: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including Trauma Focused), Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness.
