ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
I believe each person is on a unique journey and I am here to support you as you walk your path. We all want to live healthy and productive lives but sometimes life hands us difficult challenges that we may not know how to best handle. Sometimes they just feel so overwhelming, don’t they?
That’s where therapy can really help. By listening and learning about your strengths and challenges, I will get to know you and we can start to build an authentic, trusting relationship. Authenticity is of utmost importance to me, and you will feel that right away. I want to learn about the journey you’ve been on, help you process any residual pain, navigate current challenges, develop effective coping strategies and healthy boundaries, and ultimately begin to feel stronger. Sometimes it can feel a bit daunting to take that first step, but you deserve it!
I encourage self-exploration and growth, providing a safe space to unpack issues that are causing distress. My role is to help you by providing tools and sharing my toolbox with you. When we have access to tools and a supportive environment in which to explore, we can learn and grow and thrive. Together we will find solutions. If this sounds good to you, please reach out.
With a background in the social-services and education worlds and now the therapy world, I have years of experience with adults, teens, children, and families in challenging and sometimes very difficult situations. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Grand Valley State University. My goal has always been to provide support, education, and resources that strengthen individuals and families. I am passionate about empowering others.
As a therapist, I utilize an integrative approach and a variety of skills primarily drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, and Trauma- Informed Therapy. When working with youth, I also incorporate Art Therapy and Play Therapy into sessions. Each person is unique and by using an eclectic mix of modalities, the therapeutic experience is tailored to each individual client. I enjoy working with people from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community.
