Hi! I'm so happy to be able to be here with you to support your journey to personal fulfillment ahead! Walking in the door of a private practice can often be the most difficult part for many, so you being here is a huge step to celebrate! My name is Mason Hutter, and I am currently an intern here at Counseling Center of West Michigan and completing my Counselor Education program down at Western Michigan University (Go Broncos!). With a background in both behavior analysis and clinical works in my undergraduate and graduate degree, I have been working for some time to not only grow my love for working with clients like you, but have also grown an openness to always learning more. I have had experience working with clients of all ages! In my undergraduate degree, I gained psychological testing experience at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services here in Grand Rapids, and also recently completed my practicum program at Western Michigan University. I have a broad interest in working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, self-esteem or self-exploratory concerns, and work to use a creative approach in our sessions. I often take our practice from a CBT framework, while also integrating principles of DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), with a solution-focused and person-centered approach.

In our sessions, I want to make sure that you feel safe and recognize our space as a non-judgmental and empathetic one where you are free to tell your story however works best for you. I operate from a “clean slate” perspective, meaning that every client that walks in the door is treated individually and adaptably. I’m excited to guide your hand in this journey ahead and look forward to supporting your avenue of success!
