ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Michael is a Licensed Professional counselor in Michigan. Michael and his wife and four children are recent transplants from Missouri and now proud to call Michigan home. He plays guitar and is an avid Science Fiction fan.
He received his Master of Clinical Psychology from Pittsburg State University and has practiced providing mental health services since 2010. He has been in health services in one capacity or another for over 20 years and has had the privilege of working with families in a variety of settings, including schools, residential treatment, hospitals, and community based organizations.
While he focuses more on CBT and person-centered approaches, he does try to find the best fit between modality and the client's needs. He has extensive experience in working with persons with trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, anger, substance abuse, self harming issues, defiance, low self esteem, ADHD, social skills/peer relations, and behavioral issues.
He believes that therapy provides a safe outlet for clients to express their feelings , set appropriate
boundaries, understand thoughts and behavior processes, and to gain perspective on how thoughts and behavior are connected. He prides himself on building strong connections with his clients and assisting them in achieving their mental health goals.
He is certified to provide individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy.
