ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Making the decision as to when to seek therapy is a difficult step to take. My name is Shannon and I want to assure you that I will meet you where you are at emotionally and wherever you are at in your life's journey. I am a compassionate and skilled therapist dedicated to assisting individuals navigate their emotional and psychological challenges. Holding a Masters Degree in Social Work (2009) and a Bachelor Degree in Psychology (2006) from Grand Valley State University, I have worked with individuals and families in hospital settings, rehab settings, in their homes, psychiatric inpatient settings, and while on hospice. My passion is helping individuals and families navigate the different stages and challenges of their life's journey.

I specialize in areas of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, end of life issues, mental health professional issues, and with those struggling with a chronic or terminal diagnosis. I utilize a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Person Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. My therapeutic style is client-centered, focusing on creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings.

My belief is that a therapeutic relationship can be a catalyst for change and I am committed to helping clients build resilience, gain insight, and develop practical tools for coping with life's challenges. I am also passionate about integrating holistic approaches into therapy to address the whole person, including their emotional, physical, and social well-being.

Outside of my practice, I am actively involved in the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), providing field and licensing supervision to new MSWs and MSW students, and furthering my education as I am dedicated to staying current with the latest research and best practices in the field.

When not in the therapy room, I enjoy camping, reading, rock hunting, hiking, and spending time with my friends and family as well as my dog, Samson, which helps me maintain a balanced and holistic perspective on life.

I am currently accepting new clients and looks forward to supporting you on your journey towards healing and personal growth.
