ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Hello, my name is Winnie Wilson and I am a doctoral limited license psychologist. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced trauma.
I enjoy helping individuals explore the ways in which past traumatic experiences have impacted their daily lives and helping to empower individuals to address and heal from these impacts.
I understand that trauma can have a profound and lasting impact on every aspect of individuals lives. And, while trauma can be devastating, it also has the potential to foster personal growth and resilience. My goal is to not only focus on symptom reduction but also guide you towards discovering your inner strengths and building a foundation for post-traumatic growth. I believe in your capacity to not only survive but thrive in the aftermath of trauma. Whether you have experienced a single traumatic event or have been burdened by complex trauma, I am dedicated to providing you with compassionate support and care in which you feel safe to be heard and seen.
As an insight into my counseling approach, I embrace a humanistic, person-centered approach which means I encourage you to freely explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. I also embrace a holistic approach in which I prioritize the understanding of self through the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in your healing journey.
In addition to trauma, I also specialize in working with individuals who are experiencing challenges related to depression and anxiety. Common goals that clients and I often engage involves healing from past traumas, fostering greater capacities for self-awareness and understanding of relationships with others, getting unstuck, healing from chronic depression, developing and/or identifying values, challenging anxiety and making meaning of life's experiences through exploration of goals, desires, fears, strengths, etc.
