I completed my Bachelor's Degree in social work in 2013, graduating from Grand Valley State University. In 2016, I obtained my Master's Degree in clinical social work from Michigan State University.
Over the past 5 years, I have been working with children ages 4 to 18 and their families in schools, homes, and community settings. In this work, I have focused on topics including depression, anxiety, anger management, grief, emotional regulation and communication skills. I also have experience assisting parents in behavior management and establishing a routine to implement at home.
Working with children, I tend to utilize art and play therapy techniques as well as solutions focused therapy. This approach to therapy allows the client to guide sessions and focus on utilizing their existing strengths to meet an identified goal.
I love my job because there are no two days alike and I am given the opportunity to learn and grow alongside of my clients.
