Hello there! My name is Niki and I am a licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I am experienced in crisis intervention working inpatient in the psychiatric setting as well as various residential facilities. I specialize in depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, self-esteem issues, anger management, strained relationships, family conflict, divorce/breakup, grief and loss and substance abuse. I graduated with my Bachelor degree in Psychology and Sociology from Central Michigan University and obtained my Master degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University.
I enjoy working with individuals and families in the age range of older teens and adults. I utilize a direct but compassionate approach to treatment and the feedback I provide. I believe in a strong therapeutic relationship involving mutual trust and respect in which we work on what you the client wants to work on.
Coming to therapy can be a scary process, so my goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where you decide the direction we go in therapy. Therapy modalities I utilize are cognitive behavioral therapy; strengths based perspective and dialectical behavioral therapy. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
