Adrian Hernandez, M.A, DTLLP

My name is Adrian J. Hernandez, and I am a current doctoral student at Western Michigan University (WMU). I received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from WMU and prior to that received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Grand Valley State University (GVSU).

I believe that my role in counseling is to ultimately help my clients see the power they have in addressing and finding the best solutions for the issues that are present in their lives. I strongly believe that no one is without strengths and that the therapeutic process should emphasize an individual’s best qualities while also acknowledging their potential for growth. Recognizing an individual's unique history and background is of personal and professional importance to me. As such, I also believe that this process should be tailored to your individual needs and desires.

I specialize in working with children and adolescents, but have experience working with individuals of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds. In addition, I am bilingual and able to provide services in Spanish if desired. My goal is to provide a therapeutic process that is informed, warm, non-judgmental, strengths-based, and perhaps most importantly, effective. Together, I am confident that we will find progress and success on your path towards the life that you have hoped for.
