Chantelle Benko, LMSW

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW) with several years of extensive training and experience providing psychotherapy and holistic counseling services to diverse populations of all backgrounds, orientations, and ages in various settings. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Western Michigan University with a completion of a Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA) Certification and specific Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) training. My undergrad education was also at WMU where I completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

Much of my career has been invested in working with “at risk” youth, adolescents, and adults while assisting them in overcoming a wide array of life’s challenges with special focus on building healthy relationships and healing from trauma and addiction. My direct approach, as well as my knowledge and clinical experience in crisis stabilization, child welfare, family court, juvenile justice, and various levels and capacities of the adult justice systems has helped to bring benefit and inspire growth in many. I enjoy working with individuals as well as couples and groups and have a natural ability to genuinely hear and empathize with people while meeting each where they are presently at in life.

I’m currently offering therapeutic service to teens, adolescents, couples, and adults looking to:

  • Understand, heal, and work to overcome issues tied to
anxiety, depression, mood instability, low self-esteem, abuse, neglect, bullying, grief, loss, PTSD, and other traumas

  • Develop a positive sense of “self” with focus on increasing overall health and wellness in mind, body, and spirit

  • Identify patterns while processing life’s struggles, challenges, losses, gains, changes, and opportunities for growth

  • Improve motivation, productivity, and self-care

  • Learn healthy communication skills, boundaries, and forms of attachment

  • Build healthy marriages and relationships

  • Strengthen parenting skills & co-parenting abilities

  • Work their recovery from substances and other addictions

  • Set goals and find direction to pursue life’s passions and purpose

If you are ready to stop doing what you’ve always done, getting what you’ve always gotten, and are ready to look at possibly trying something new…I’m here to offer you an individualized and trauma informed care approach that is highly focused on utilizing a variety of tools and models of treatment (including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Behavior Modification, Mindfulness, Attachment theory, among others) that will specifically address your individual needs and goals.

I encourage you to be brave and take the next step at becoming your true authentic self- and I absolutely look forward to assisting you through the next steps in this journey in a safe, confidential, and encouraging setting to help you unlock a new promising chapter in your life!
