NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Since graduating from Grand Valley State University with a Master’s degree in Social Work, I have spent the past several years working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family therapeutic settings. I consider my therapeutic approach to be eclectic. There is no “one size fits all” approach, everyone I have the opportunity to work with is unique, so I work to tailor my approach to the needs of the individual. I do enjoy incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy strategies to encourage clients to begin identifying unhealthy thought patterns which tend to perpetuate depression and anxiety. I also utilize some dialectical behavioral therapy techniques such as distress tolerance and mindfulness to allow clients to better tolerate the discomfort they may be feeling along with identifying healthy coping strategies to create healthier responses to that discomfort.

I have experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, identity, loss, and self-esteem along with those that have experienced trauma. I am honored to have the opportunity to walk alongside clients on their journey to individual wellness. I strive to create a safe, comfortable environment to allow individuals to take off the mask that they may be hiding behind and work to become their genuine selves.
