NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Hello and welcome to the Counseling Center of West Michigan. I am so glad you are here. My name is Erin Eising. I am passionate about empowering people of all ages to live a life of health, wholeness, and joy. I believe that every person deserves to live a life full of purpose. Sometimes the hardest part of reaching our goals and purpose in life is taking the first step. Let’s take the first steps together.
Education
I have years of experience working in the field of social work. My work experience includes working with many different populations. I have counseled adults, children, and adolescents, some with dual diagnoses of mental health and substance use disorders. I have specialized training in crisis intervention and suicidality. I also have training in play therapy with children. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Hope College and received my Master’s of Social Work from Western Michigan University. I am pursuing a certification to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Clinical Approach
I believe that counseling is not a cookie-cutter process and every person is a unique individual. My approach is person centered and tailored to the needs the individual wants to address. I work from a systemic approach of looking at the whole person mind, body, spirt and environment to see how they all fit together in helping you reach your goals. My therapeutic approach utilizes a variety of evidence based practices and treatment modalities including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy for children, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness. I believe therapy is a partnership. Thank you for allowing me to partner alongside you in achieving your goals. I am excited to start this journey with you.
