There are some constants to being human- we all struggle, we are all flawed, we all make mistakes on a daily basis, we all have emotions, and most of the time we do everything we can to avoid owning all of those same things that make us human. Being seen, truly seen, for who we are is incredibly intimidating and exposes our vulnerabilities. That is why it is so brave for anyone to take that first step to addressing things that are holding them back. True courage starts with us showing up to our own story, owning it, and allowing ourselves to accept who and where we really are.

I do not buy into the concept that individuals are broken and need to be fixed. I believe that every individual is doing the best they can with what they have and at times we just get stuck- stuck in the same patterns that are no longer working for us. Facing these patterns, challenging what we are used to, and validating who we are as humans helps us move forward with our lives. I also believe that doing all of that is HARD WORK! My role is to walk alongside my clients as they wrestle with the work of writing the next page in their story.

I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University and am licensed in the state of Michigan as a Limited Licensed Psychologist. I have developed experience over the past 10 years in working with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of presenting issues including trauma, intense emotions, grief/loss, adjustment, stress, depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal thoughts, dissociation, and identity concerns. My passion is working with younger kids and teens in trauma therapy and with teens and adults on the whole spectrum of concerns. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

If you are ready to keep it real, make change happen, be heard and connect, and address the things that are keeping you from being who are meant to be, then I am all in for you and ready to walk alongside you!
