I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology at Western Michigan University. I have worked in the mental health field since 2002, working with diverse populations that have included working as a direct care provider in specialized residential settings for both youth and adults, case manager working with the SPMI (Severe Persistent Mentally Ill) population as well as experience working with adult male offenders in the Department of Corrections as well as adults hospitalized inpatient in State Psychiatric facilities.
I have been trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Motivational Interview Training and recently EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). My therapeutic approach is integrative/holistic, where I tailor my approach based on the individual and their goals that they would like to obtain.
I provide individual and group therapy for teens and adults focusing on the following: Anger, anxiety, co-occurring/dual diagnosis, depression, emotion regulation, grief, self-esteem and trauma.
I am clinically supervised by Roki Abakoui, PhD.
