Melanie Zerndt, LMSW, CAADC
ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Welcome to the Counseling Center of West Michigan. I truly believe that every person, at some point in their lives, would benefit greatly from therapy.
I have my LMSW along with my CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor) and attended Grand Valley State University for my MSW. My Bachelor’s Degree is in behavioral psychology from Western Michigan University. My style is more organic (unless it’s a structured treatment intervention like CPT) and I believe the client-therapist relationship is key to making strides. That being said, I believe it’s important to give some information that will help you decide if I’m a good fit for you.
Some of my specialty areas are: OCD, trauma, substance use and addiction, ASD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, and anger management. I am trained in CPT and offer this treatment for trauma. It has been highly successful. I also work with people to create trauma narratives to decrease PTSD symptoms. I have experience with behavioral and exposure therapy, mindfulness, CBT, and DBT. Also, I am an LBGTQ ally and work with those between the ages of 14 and 65. I have worked in a lot of intense environments including a jail and residential.
At this time, I am 100% virtual; providing tele-health services. I am very person centered and truly
believe in addressing what you want to address, as it is your therapy.
Knowing a bit more about me personally may also help you determine if I am a good fit. I come from an Italian family and am pretty expressive. I am very transparent and judgement free. I have two young boys and a dog.
If it seems like I am a good fit, I would love to meet you. Together, I am confident we can reach your
