Did you know that you can build the life you want and deserve, and that you can learn how to be your own therapist?

I can help you learn how to manage intense emotions, to evaluate and adjust patterns of thinking, and how to effectively manage your own routines – even when life feels overwhelming.

Maybe you’re scared, maybe you’re angry or maybe you find it hard to have loving feelings – even with your family and friends. Maybe you faced hardships that seem impossible to tolerate. Maybe nobody else knows how often you wrestle with your thoughts and feelings just to stay focused.

If you’re feeling lost and exhausted, I know the territory of recovery like a park ranger knows the woods and where the cars are parked. I know how to build a game plan like a good coach, how to get the most out of you and how to call a time out just at the right time. And like a good mentor, I have the experience, patience and commitment that makes for a good partnership. I’ll be honest, trustworthy and explain things in ways that you can understand.

When people ask me what I do, I tell them I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist, which means that I pay close attention to my clients’ patterns of thinking and behavior. A large part of what I do is helping people find what helps them, and what doesn’t. And, finding missing pieces, like an effective coping skill, makes therapy easier and more relevant.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Education/Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University (WMU). I also hold a Masters Degree in Business Administration from WMU too, which is also where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. It took me a long time to figure out who I wanted to be, but I haven’t forgotten how hard it can be to find your own talent and potential.

My clients often tell me that they appreciate my style of working with them and that their therapy was uniquely helpful. If you’re looking for a hardworking, trustworthy ally that knows how people function then please call. I’d really like to help you build the life you deserve
