NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Hello and welcome to Counseling Center of West Michigan.
Seeking therapy when life is not going well is a daunting task. Will it help? How will I know who is the right therapist for me? Will I know if I am making progress? I can attest that the right therapy is transforming. The most effective therapist is someone you can connect with at a deep level, and ongoing assessment is just one part of the process to sustainable self-development.
I have over 20 years of experience working with people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, depression and personality disorders. Some tools that I use include: EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, CBT/DBT, and Animal Assisted Therapy. Therapy with me includes learning about your nervous system, and how to effectively communicate with yourself. Be ready for more than talk therapy, as I believe in connecting with the body and approaching symptoms holistically. Currently, I am working with couples, families, teens and adults.
My training in Brief Strategic Family Therapy, parenting skills, and couples work provides me with tools to help discern what is not working in your home, and what intimacy in your relationships would really look like. If you want to increase your sense of connection, we can find a path there.
People who work with me say that I make them laugh, look at things differently, and lose their fear of change. I am not afraid of being wrong and admitting it. That opens the door for letting go of shame and moving toward acceptance. You do not have to go through life feeling less than, and comparing yourself to others. There is a different way, and I can help you find it.
