Selma Balkic, LMSW

Adolescence and young adulthood are both life stages that can be overwhelming and confusing. Trying to navigate the demands of school, work, social relationships, and family dynamics can be both emotionally and physically draining and lead to symptoms of depression, anxiety, and at times bring out frustration; even anger.

Since graduating from GVSU with a Masters in Social Work in 2011, I have been dedicated to working with children, adolescents & young adults and their support systems. My additional interests include supporting people struggling with symptoms of perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, Autism Spectrum disorders, and co-occurring disorders.

Utilizing a strength based approach, my goal for every session is to foster a safe and nonjudgmental space to work towards individualized treatment goals, improve coping skills, and encourage opportunities for growth, independence, and self-awareness.
