"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination."

-Carl Rogers

My approach to therapy primarily involves a collaborative method to create an atmosphere that is comfortable and engaging for you. I take great care in listening and incorporating each person’s preferences when developing a style, approach and plan for therapy.

I have experience working with individuals who experience anxiety, paranoia, depression, PTSD and agoraphobia. I also have experience working with people who are involved in high stress situations and individuals who are in the caretaking profession. Having worked in residential settings in both the mental health and corrections fields myself, I understand how incredibly taxing these roles can be.

I have experience with several evidence-based approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, SFBT (Solutions Focused Behavioral Therapy), Social Skills Training, Narrative Therapy, Adlerian Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.

My overall goal when working with individuals is to assist each person with identifying their strengths and motivations. By doing so, one can then build upon those strengths and motivations to face and overcome obstacles in their own lives. I find empowering people to face whatever hardship is in their lives to be a rewarding pursuit and I look forward to working with anyone this appeals to.
