Hi there! My name is Sarah. I have been practicing in the human service field since 2015. My educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University and graduate degree in social work from Western Michigan University, specializing in trauma and interpersonal practice.
Early in my career, I worked on psychiatric inpatient units before transitioning to working with children and adults with ASD. Following this, I worked in a psychiatric urgent care setting before moving into traditional outpatient therapy with individuals of a variety of mental health concerns.
My professional experience includes working with individuals struggling with anxiety, ASD, depression, PTSD, domestic violence, mood disorders and relationship issues. Using a person-centered approach, the treatment models I most practice are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing and Strengths-Based Therapy.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, spending time with my cats, reading, traveling, camping and hiking with my two dogs.
I believe that seeking therapy is a big step in self-care and managing mental health. My goal is to create a warm, safe space to promote healing and peace in the body. I will listen, support, validate and encourage, as we walk together in your mental health journey.
