Schedule An Appointment
In today's fast-paced and stress-filled world, we believe our clients should have the ability to easily and quickly access counseling services with qualified, experienced and licensed professionals. We also understand that if you have never sought counseling services, the process can seem a bit intimidating. At Counseling Center of West Michigan, we make every effort to help you feel comfortable and ensure that finding the right therapist and scheduling your appointment is hassle-free.
Step One: Choose which method of communication is most convenient and comfortable for you:
Step Two: After you reach out through one of the above means, one of our dedicated intake coordinators will connect you to the right therapist for your situation, if you haven't already selected one. We will gather your insurance information and schedule an appointment at your (and your therapist's) earliest convenience. We also offer text appointment reminders.
Step Three: Meet your therapist for your initial session. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment to fill out your new client paperwork or print it here and bring it in filled out. Make yourself comfortable in our waiting room and enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, or hot chocolate while you wait. Your therapist will set up any follow-up appointments.
Step Four: Because finding the right therapist can be a bit of a match-making process, after your first session, our intake coordinator will follow up with you to ensure that you are off to a good start with the therapist you selected. It is completely normal for it to take a couple of sessions to start to build a therapeutic relationship but we also recognize that for various reasons you may not make a connection with your therapist. In this case, our goal is to provide a comfortable space for you to communicate that lack of connection and allow us to help you find someone who is a better fit.
