I obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 1996 and am a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW). Over the past 23 years, I have worked with many different kinds of clients with varying mental health issues and many talented professionals that have educated me about different treatment modalities and the biology of mental health issues. These experiences have taught me so much about human beings mentally, emotionally, and even biologically.
It is my goal to provide a relaxed, soothing environment that creates a sense of peace and comfort for my clients. Helping clients understand their symptoms, find peace, acceptance, personal growth, confidence and a stronger sense of purpose is the best part of my job.
Learning to identify and manage our fears and the causes of them, as well as our unhealthy thinking patterns, emotions and behaviors is life changing. You will find that I am easy going, kind, honest and open during sessions.
I enjoy working with older adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health issues including depression, suicidal/self-harm ideation, anxiety, social anxiety with panic attacks, postpartum depression/anxiety, OCD, borderline personality disorder and mood disorders. I work with individuals who suffer from mild to severe mental health issues or are just struggling with difficult stressors or life transitions. I employ multiple types of treatment modalities including CBT, DBT, Family Systems, and Mindfulness.
