The challenge that so many people have is not knowing how to take the first step of reaching out to another person for help. -Kate Middleton
The indispensable first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: decide what you want.

Congratulations on taking the first step, which led you to this website.
My name is Cindy Newberry. I have spent my life working with others, assisting them in reclaiming and living their best life. In 2014, I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Masters in Social Work. Prior to starting my career as a Clinical Social Worker, I had a long career as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Personally, my life has been one of many unexpected twists and turns. I have found that, when provided with the appropriate tools and guidance, I have been able to find positive outcomes in the most surprising places. It is my belief that if I can overcome life’s struggles, so can you.
Professionally, as a Physical Therapist Assistant, I have had the honor of working alongside individuals with physical handicaps, acute and chronic pain, and chronic health conditions such as those requiring dialysis. I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and with those confined to their homes. As a Social Worker, I have worked with individuals with mental health issues, including adjusting to life changes, trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, and anxiety related to health issues, being bullied, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anger, grief, low self-esteem, and adjustment reactions.
Individuals with mental and physical challenges deserve to be empowered to help themselves to live a life of quality. I do not believe that I have the all the answers. I do believe that I have knowledge of strategies and tools that if applied can assist you to achieve your goals. I share these with my clients through honest, open conversation in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Modalities I employ during therapy include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Acceptance Therapy.
I look forward to getting to know you and sharing in the joy of you reclaiming control of your life.
