NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Hello! My name is Emily Salzman. I am a Korean American adoptee who arrived in the United States when I was eight-months-old and I've lived in Grand Rapids ever since. I have worked in the mental health field since 2013 and obtained my Master of Social Work degree from Grand Valley State University in 2017.

Most of my career thus far has been working with children and families as they navigate the community mental health system and address issues like meeting basic needs, depression, anxiety, parenting, and trauma. I often use cognitive behavioral therapy in my approach, and am trained to do trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT).

To me, therapy is a lot like evolution. It is a sometimes long, sometimes messy, difficult process of growing into your most authentic self. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space, focus on your strengths, and help you along the way of becoming who you want to be.
