ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Hey there!
My name is Jon Mikelsons, LLPC, a passionate counselor dedicated to guiding individuals on their unique journeys towards growth and healing. My therapeutic approach is relationship-based and eclectic, recognizing that everyone deserves a personalized and caring space to explore their challenges.
My academic journey began at Grand Valley State University, where I earned Bachelor's degrees in psychology and sociology, providing me with a solid understanding of human behavior and social dynamics. Continuing my education at Western Michigan University, I obtained a Masters in counseling, which equipped the finer skills that allow me to support individuals through challenging times.
Specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Strength-Based approaches, and mindfulness, I bring a diverse set of tools to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, identity exploration, life coaching, relationship building/maintenance, and emotional regulation. My purpose is to help adolescents and emerging adults navigate life's challenges through effective communication, maintaining healthy relationships, and finding balance in decision-making.
Whether you're facing depression, anxiety, grief, or day-to-day struggles, I'm here to collaborate with you in creating a supportive space. Together, we can navigate your goals for therapy and work towards a more fulfilling life. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey.
