Reaching out for help can be difficult and overwhelming. How do you select a therapist you’ll feel
comfortable with? Hopefully, you’ll see an individual and/or bio you connect with. Regardless who you elect to work with, know there are always other perspectives and approaches out there. Take your time to find someone you feel suits you. I believe in meeting clients where they are and setting attainable goals. Growth and change are possible and achievable.
I have worked in the mental health field for almost 30 years. I have gained experience in a variety of
clinical settings, working with a diverse population, addressing many behavioral health diagnoses and symptoms. I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify thoughts that are destructive, irrational, and self-defeating. By working to change our thinking, we can change the way we view ourselves and the world around us. In addition, I have received training in Motivational
Interviewing which can help identify what clients want their future to look like and to gear up for getting there. I have received recent training in EMDR to assist clients with processing trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, etc.… I am comfortable working with challenging symptoms and issues, like psychosis and suicidal ideation as well as more commonly experienced depression and anxiety.
I received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and have been licensed in the State of Michigan as a Limited License Psychologist for 29 years. I do my best to “practice what I preach” by utilizing the coping skills that help me be my best to help those I serve. I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with my husband and friends, working out/lifting weights, and caring for the animals on our small farm.
I look forward to meeting you. Together, we will work to achieve a more confident and empowered
version of you!
