Hi, there! My name is Aubri Bates.
I have been in the social work field for a number of years, and prior to this I worked as a Special Education teacher. I have always known that I had a passion for helping others, but after receiving my degree and certification in K-12 Learning Disabilities, I realized that I did not want to be the teacher, but I wanted to be the social worker that worked across the hallway from me. Throughout my social work career, I have worked with diverse populations including children and adults of all abilities, all mental health diagnosis, and provided crisis therapy to those in need.
 
Approaches that I have found to be especially helpful include strengths-based, person-centered, mindfulness, radical acceptance, cognitive behavioral, and art and play perspectives. I truly simply enjoy working with people and helping them to discover their best selves by whatever means we find to be most helpful for them and that allows them to access that version of themselves.
 
I believe you have the strength and power to make the changes you would like to see in your life already. I have learned the true power of having a listening ear and one that can respond with empathy and compassion. Whether you have a young child who is struggling or are an adult with years of life experiences, I am ready to meet you where you are and assist you in achieving your goals.
