Kaymi Hargrove is an LLMSW (Limited Licensed Master’s Social Worker). She got her Bachelor of Social Work degree, minoring in Psychology from Grand Valley State University in April of 2018, and her Master of Social Work degree with a focus on trauma specialization from Western Michigan University in May of 2021. Kaymi most recently worked at PineRest Christian Mental Health services as an outpatient therapist. Prior to working at PineRest, Kaymi worked at DA Blodgett St. John’s as a licensing specialist, working closely with foster homes and gaining knowledge of the foster care system. She also interned at the Children’s Abuse Council of Muskegon County and The Children’s Advocacy Center of Kent County. During her time with the CAC Muskegon, she did Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy with children who were sexual abuse survivors.

 

Kaymi primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, play therapy, trauma focused therapy and strength-based approaches. She works with children, adolescents and adults, and focuses on anxiety and depression disorders, PTSD/trauma/sexual abuse, grief and loss, mood disorders, stress management, self-harm, and relationship issues.

 

Kaymi strives to encourage others that they are not alone in their challenges and do not have to carry their burden alone. She loves her job as a therapist because she loves helping those who are facing difficult situations. Kaymi strives to build a safe and compassionate atmosphere for her clients, and empowers them to gain greater confidence and self-esteem, stronger relationships, and good emotional health.
