My name is Sara Jensen, and I am a Limited License Marriage & Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have extensive experience working within family perseveration programs in which I have provided intensive case management and therapeutic services to families of whom were in crisis and had experienced trauma. I have also worked in child welfare, which included addressing the difficulties of parenting, promoting parent-child relationships and teaching parenting skills. In addition, I have worked in outpatient therapy within the counseling clinic at Western Michigan University.

I have served all ages, from newborns to late adulthood, and also a variety of populations in terms of cultural aspects, ethnicities and orientations. I have experience working with divorce, co-parenting, blended families, childhood trauma, adult trauma, parent-child relationships, behavioral issues, educational difficulties, mood and personality disorders, PTSD, anxiety and depression.

I graduated with a Masters of Arts degree from Western Michigan University, with a concentration in Marriage, Couple and Family therapy. I follow a solutions-focused and person centered approach, as well as utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe in giving each individual the tools to work towards becoming their best selves, and I believe in being a strong advocate for my clients.
