ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
You might be used to holding it all together for everyone else while quietly feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected inside. Whether you are navigating everyday stress, a major life transition, or the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy or new parenthood, therapy can be a place where you finally feel supported, understood, and able to focus on yourself. Life does not always unfold the way we expect. At times, it can leave us feeling stuck or unsure of where to begin. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. You do not have to figure it all out alone. I am here to walk alongside you as you begin creating meaningful change. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel truly heard and understood. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and tailored to your unique experiences and goals. Together, we will explore what has been weighing on you, build insight, and develop practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.
I especially enjoy working with women across all stages of life, supporting them through the unique challenges and transitions they may face. I also enjoy working with young adults as they navigate the often overwhelming shift into full adult responsibility, including identity development, relationships, career decisions, and independence. This stage of life can bring both excitement and uncertainty, and I strive to provide a space where you can sort through it all and feel more confident in your direction. In addition, I have a strong passion for working with both mothers and fathers during pregnancy and the postpartum period. While this time can be deeply meaningful, it can also bring unexpected emotions such as anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, or a sense of losing yourself. Whether you are preparing for parenthood or adjusting to life with a new baby, you are not alone. I offer a compassionate space to help you navigate these changes, strengthen your sense of self, and feel more supported and confident in your role.
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and Person-Centered Therapy. Whether we are working on managing intense emotions, improving relationships, or coping with life transitions, I will meet you where you are and support you at a pace that feels right for you. I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2011. I am a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and hold the Perinatal Mental Health Certification. With over 14 years of experience working with adults and adolescents, my background includes individual and group therapy, substance use treatment, intensive case management, clinical supervision, and participation on a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy treatment team.
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, lifting weights, listening to music, and reading. I am also a dog lover and enjoy spoiling my two labs, Rory and Chase.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but it is also a meaningful act of caring for yourself. When you are ready, I am here to support you!
