ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Embarking on the therapeutic journey takes courage, as well as finding the right therapist. I specialize in helping those going through significant life events and discernment, individuals who experience depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD and distressing memories, as well as those who identify as LGBTQIA+. A brief bit about my background--I grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin before venturing off to study psychology at Dordt University in Sioux Center, IA. My professional degrees include a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, as well as a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. I am a fierce advocate for the LBGTQIA+ community. Professionally, I have specialized in medical social work and healthcare chaplaincy in hospital settings and am grateful to serve Veterans at the VA. I utilize EMDR, solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, as well as mindfulness-based interventions. And any approach holds you as the client at the center, working from a strengths-based perspective.
