Welcome to the Counseling Center of West Michigan!
I have been practicing as a clinical social worker for 19 years. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hope College and my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Michigan. Much of my experience has been in medical settings as a hospice social worker and as a therapist working with adults who are coping with depression, anxiety, and panic related to life transitions, relationship issues, grief, chronic illness, and loss. My approach to treatment is person-centered, holistic, and collaborative. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help clients gain awareness of patterns, identify areas for growth, and learn new skills.
