ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Hello! First and foremost, congratulations on taking the initial steps to pursue counseling. I acknowledge that this can be a difficult journey and finding the right fit is essential.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker working as a clinical therapist since graduating from Grand Valley State University in 2004. I am a Certified Advanced Addiction & Drug Counselor having worked with people in recovery at all stages of change since 2002. I have worked with people who are seeking support both independently and with people who are being seen per court order or recommendation.
As a holistic practitioner I advocate for gaining proper balance in life with a person’s overall wellness to thrive. My experience includes addressing trauma/PTSD, substance use/abuse and recovery, anxiety, depression, transgender and gender dysphoria, and LGBTQ+ issues for adolescents and adults as an ally. I provide letters for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Gender Affirming Surgery for people I work with for extended periods of time regarding gender identity throughout their transition.
As we work to identify obstacles in life and tools to change and improve our well-being, one frequent obstacle I have come across is the commute. Having therapy from your own home allows more time in your schedule. I transitioned to all sessions being by video in the era of digital technology we have reached. When treatment is more accessible it is easier to address the problems we face before they become unmanageable. I look forward to working together in finding ways to thrive in life and for self-discovery. If you are looking to move forward in life, you have found the right place.
