ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Hello and welcome to the Counseling Center of West Michigan. I am so glad you are here. My name is Erin Eising. I am passionate about empowering people of all ages to live a life of health, wholeness, and joy. I believe that every person deserves to live a life full of purpose. Sometimes the hardest part of reaching our goals and purpose in life is taking the first step. Let’s take the first steps together.

Education

I have years of experience working in the field of social work. My work experience includes working with many different populations. I have counseled adults, children, and adolescents, some with dual diagnoses of mental health and substance use disorders. I have specialized training in crisis intervention and suicidality. I also have training in play therapy with children. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Hope College and received my Master’s of Social Work from Western Michigan University.

Clinical Approach

I believe that counseling is not a cookie-cutter process and every person is a unique individual. My approach is person centered and tailored to the needs the individual wants to address. I work from a systemic approach of looking at the whole person mind, body, spirt and environment to see how they all fit together in helping you reach your goals. My therapeutic approach utilizes a variety of evidence based practices and treatment modalities including but not limited to specialized treatment of trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy for children, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness. I believe therapy is a partnership. Thank you for allowing me to partner alongside you in achieving your goals. I am excited to start this journey with you.
