ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
I am a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University in 2004. Prior to this, I studied Psychology and Sociology at GVSU. I have a passion for working with adults of any age and couples, with a specialty focus on depression, anxiety, trauma informed care via EMDR, women’s issues, and life transitions. I thoroughly enjoy working with couples to better understand one another, learn how to communicate wants and needs respectfully, and how to communicate in a way that brings about understanding and harmony.
My goal is to provide you a safe, compassionate space for you to share your life, for optimal growth and healing. My counseling style is person centered, tailored to the individual goals and needs of my clients utilizing cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, behavioral, and solutions based therapies.
Having worked in the mental health field for 16 years, my experience has allowed me to assist many people and their families with varying backgrounds dealing with challenges such as; chronic mental illness, severe depression, anxiety, terminal illness, self-harming behaviors, co-occurring disorders, and crisis intervention. My experience ranges from Hospice, Case Management of adults with persistent mental health concerns, clinical specialist on a crisis line, and private practice. I have also worked with clients addicted to substances, with co-occurring disorders.
Are you ready to experience joy and hope again? I would like to come alongside you in finding the root causes of distress in your life. I would like to assist you in overcoming unhealthy behavioral, and/or thought patterns that keep you weighed down in emotional pain. It’s time to thrive instead of just surviving.
