ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
It’s okay to not be okay. This is the first step to being on your journey to a better/healthier you. We are not meant to do life alone and I am here to help you face the giants in your life, big or small.
My name is Korin Wilson and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and I am a Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CAADC). I have experience with children, families, and adults using various modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, trauma focused interventions, and solution focused therapy.
I am passionate about my work with children and have extensive experience in and out of the therapy world. In my work with children, I utilize play therapy. Play is the child’s language. In play therapy, children are able to express themselves and build safety to be fully and completely themselves. Each child is unique with strengths, experiences, and their own worldview. My goal is to help a child address challenges they may be facing and highlight their strengths as they work toward the goals they want to accomplish in therapy. I love emphasizing the color in a child’s world and helping brighten their shine through their time with me and in our therapeutic relationship. In my work with children, my relationship with the caregivers are vital to their growth and success, so I will meet with caregivers periodically as well and help provide them with tools to support their child.
I love working with families, adults, and couples, too! I have experience with adults that have dealt with substance use, trauma, and mental health concerns. Couples and families are unique to work with as there are multiple people involved. Humans are complex and I love to explore the aspects that each person brings in their relationship dynamics. Relationships are so important in our lives; so, building and developing healthy, fulfilling ones is crucial for success. In couples and family therapy, my goal is to create a safe environment where each individual feels heard and validated, but also challenged to grow and listen to the other individuals too.
Overall, my goal is to empower you and assist you in reaching your goals in therapy. You deserve to feel seen and understood no matter what life has thrown at you. I look forward to working alongside you in your journey!
