ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Michigan University. I am currently certified as a Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CAADC). I have professional experience working with people of various ages, from adolescents to geriatrics. I can help clients work through a wide range of issues, such as trauma, substance abuse, mental health challenges (i.e. anxiety, depression, etc.), and relationship struggles, to name just a few. My main approach to therapy is solution-focused, but I incorporate techniques from multiple other theoretical orientations. Therapy is best rendered, when it is tailored to each individual client.
I firmly believe the past is something to be examined and learned from, but it should not prevent a person from moving forward. By working collaboratively with clients, I focus on helping them understand how they got where they are and how they can get to where they want to go. I assist clients in utilizing skills, such as mindfulness, grounding techniques, and cognitive restructuring, to help them become the best version of themselves.
I was born and raised in West Michigan. In my time away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, making memories with family and friends, doing puzzles, and reading. Any questions? Please ask! I am an open book! I look forward to working with you on this courageous journey you are embarking on.
