NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Hello there. Sometimes life can be uncertain, difficult or scary. It can be hard to know where to turn to for help or who to trust, and just as hard to ask for help in the world that we live in. Even looking for a therapist takes vulnerability and bravery.

Under the right conditions, therapy can be one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. People seek therapy for all sorts of reasons. Regardless of thereason, it’s important to find the right fit. Every patient deserves a therapist who is attentive, empathetic, compassionate, respectful, authentic and knowledgeable.

I have worked with individuals facing depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, traumatic brain injuries (TBI’s), chronic pain, anxiety, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, ADHD, and general life stressors (adjustment disorders). I also have experience with working with individuals who are on probation or parole, both

individually and in a group.

I’m a nationally certified counselor. I work out of a cognitive behavioral therapeutic lens, incorporating principles from dialectical behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as mindfulness (with post-graduate training in guided imagery). I also have post-graduate training in motivational interviewing, imagery rehearsal therapy to help with nightmares, the empty chair technique, and the Socratic method. I have met the training requirements to hold cognitive processing therapy provider status.

As someone who is a full-time wheelchair user, I have learned the importance of not only collaborating with others, but also the importance of having hope, working towards one’s goals and facing life’s challenges head on. I believe in working with patients to help them reach their goals in a warm, open, safe, and nonjudgmental environment. I have also learned that different people move in different ways and at different speeds, and one of the most important things in therapy is to have the patience to meet patients where they’re at. No two people have the exact same experience, which is why it is

important for all parties involved to have an active hand in any form of helping relationship. Therapy is not only what each person brings to the table, it is also what the patient and therapist choose to make it, whether you end up working with me, or another provider.
