As a therapist, I enjoy assisting people among the various stages in life. I believe that everyone has the ability to change their mindset and further their journey for growth and healing. No matter what your past looks like or what you've been through, as long as you come with an open mind to being an agent of change in your own life, I believe we can walk down that path together.
I come from over 14 years experience as a social worker in the medical field and private practice- doing therapy, case management, crisis management, working with the elderly and disabled persons, and a variety of other population areas. I am excited to work with adult clients to help them figure out what they want for their lives and move towards obtaining it.
I have a Bachelors of Social Work from Calvin University and a Masters of Social Work from Western Michigan University. I have a Trauma Informed Care Certificate from Michigan State University and a certificate of completion for Somatic Movement Training for exercises that can unleash the body's ability to protect, regulate, communicate, and heal. I have also been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 2021.
I have extensive experience doing trauma work with clients and utilize an eclectic array of therapies/techniques: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Talk Therapy (Psychotherapy), Internal Family Systems (IFS- limited), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness & Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Exposure Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Client Centered & Existential Therapy (Humanistic Therapies), Group Therapy, Somatic Movement, Integrative & Holistic Therapies, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Activation, Role-play, Communication skills, DBT skills, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Grounding, Inner Child work, and more.
