What do you truly want out of your life? It’s yours, after all. Whether you don’t know, can’t overcome the obstacles, or just feel like you don’t deserve it, a therapist can help you find and take a first step, and then a second.
My name is Reuben, and I am a therapist who focuses on empowering you to not just navigate issues and feel better, but to become the person you want to be. I especially work with:
● …people suffering from anxiety, depression, or both.
● …individuals and couples navigating relationship stress, conflicts, or betrayal.
● …people navigating past or present grief, guilt, and the effects of trauma.
● ...couples seeking to deepen their connection, refind their spark, or improve
communication.
● ...those stuck in “people pleasing.”
● …people with unhealed wounds from familial, partner, or religious abuse.
If you’d like to speak with a therapist about one of these or any other issue, please reach out to Counseling Center of West Michigan to schedule with me.
While I employ multiple treatment perspectives, I only utilize evidence-based modalities. I primarily pull from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, an approach that focuses on empowerment via openness, mindfulness, and meaning. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy, and strengths- based approaches.
I am a licensed therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Western Michigan University. I have a range of experience in the mental health field, including crisis residential, critical incident stress management, and employee assistance program clinical work. I have experience in therapy with teens, adults, couples, and families of many ages and backgrounds.
