I remember reading the quote by Ashlee Eiland, “The hidden work is the heart work which is the hard work” and thinking how accurately it represents the therapy process. Choosing to start therapy is a brave choice. It’s not always easy, but I like to think it’s worth it because you are worth it. I am always amazed and inspired by the people who show up to do the heart work and it is a privilege to be a part of that process as a therapist.
Who am I? I am a fully licensed clinical social worker who has clinical experience working with teens and adults in individual, family, and group therapy. I take a person-centered approach which simply means I try to focus the care on the needs of the individual person. It’s important to me that your preferences, needs and values guide the process. It’s my priority to create an environment that feels safe, empowering, and non-judgmental. My professional experience includes working with a variety of treatment concerns including, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, and sexually abusive/behavioral issues. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals/families within various levels of care, including out-patient, foster care, residential, detention, family preservation and court ordered outpatient settings. I also have experience with crisis intervention and am certified in assessing and treating adolescents with sexually abusive behaviors.
